December 7, 1941 - A Day Which Will Live in Infamy
Sixty-eight years ago 2,390 men, women, and children were killed and another 1,178 more wounded in a surprise attack at the Pearl Harbor military installation bringing the United States into World War II.
Eight years ago over 3,000 people were murdered in the attack on the Twin Towers and the Pentagon. 2,749 of the total were murdered in New York - civilians and first responders.
Sixty-eight years ago the United States was attacked. We identified those who were our enemies - went to war - destroyed them and their dangerous ideologies.
Eight years ago the United States was attacked. We never fully identified those who were our enemies - went to war against a few of those with dangerous ideologies - and we still haven't destroyed them or their ideologies.
It's time to recognize why the United States won World War II.
1. We identified the enemy - and their ideology clearly.
2. We destroyed them without apology.
3. We reconstructed their countries in our own image.
We will not win this "War on Terror" until we do the same.
